Prayer for my City: New Orleans

I was born and raised in the city of New Orleans. I completely enjoyed the culture of the city and the food. The people have always been friendly and hospitable. Over the past 10-15 years things begin to change drastically within the city. I truly believe that GOD is raising up an army of Saints to pray and intercede for the souls of the people in NOLA.

I know you may have heard countless stories about voodoo, slave trades, wild Mardi Gras, and witch craft within the city. Let’s not even mention the fact that New Orleans has been the Murder Capital in the USA for a time. The Big Easy is also known to be Sin City that never sleeps. I believe after Hurricane Katrina the spiritual hemisphere of the city has changed and shifted. I know some will think I’m crazy for me declaring this and that’s ok by me.. I know that GOD has allowed my eyes to be opened to many things now, that I once did not see before. So I will call on the Saints who are willing and able to go before GOD on behalf of the people in this city and intercede for their souls. Let us also pray for strength and protection for the Saints that dwell within the city and are already about our Father’s business.

There is so much that is at stake within the city if the corruption of the enemy continues to unfold. The children are suffering and many are going by the wayside because the spirit of poverty has taken over. Others are being enslaved within their minds while those who are FREE struggle to help its own community. THEY need us and our prayers will avail Much! It’s almost as though I can hear the Lord saying to me “Tell the enemy and the demonic spirits to let my people go.” God is sending them HELP and you can be a part of it. This is warfare and the things we war with are not carnal. So today and as often as you can when you say your prayers go in for the city of New Orleans. I will forever be grateful unto you and GOD will bless you in return.

My New Fav Artist(part 2):Keeyen Martin

April 27, 2013 was a big night at The Green Room Actors lounge. I had the opportunity to experience a double feature with two amazing artist. Danni Cassette being one and Keeyen Martin the other. I was first introduced to Mr. Keeyen Martin by my good friend Rudy Currence. Keeyen sings background for Rudy when he is not exploring and making his own personal appearances. This guy is simply amazing! Another artist to add to my repertoire of classics.

It was an honor to be in his presence once again at the open mic night at The Green Room. There was no place I would have rather been, then right there listening to the smooth sounds of this brother. Keeyen is versatile with his style of song. He embraces the Neo Soul energy and operates in it well. His spirit shines bright as he reflects the light of Most High. It is obvious that he is spiritually grounded within his positive performances. His covers of D’Angelo’s ‘How does it feel’ and ‘Suit and Tie’ by Justin Timberlake will leave you speechless.

A native of Charlotte, NC Keeyen has made his way in the big city of ATL. While pursuing his passion of music and performing he writes, and produces. Keeyen not only strives to bring forth his unique style but he also encourages and inspires others to pursue their dreams as well. I was truly inspired by his aura and energy given during his performance. Interacting with Mr. Martin in a one on one conversation is like a breath of fresh air. He has a beautiful spirit. My New Fav Artist: Danni Cassette

I just love it when I get exposed to artist that I know nothing about, yet I come to love their artistry so much!! Another one has arisen. I was first introduced to Danni Cassette at Apache Cafe about a month ago. She performed ‘Headlines’ by Drake. I was totally enthused by her stage performance. She brought so much energy to the stage that I wanted to join in with her. Her vocal range was off the meter. She makes you feel what she sings way down deep in your soul!! There is nothing like seeing her perform this song LIVE! She has a very melodic yet demanding voice. She commands the crowd with her flow and artistry.

I was blessed to be able to see her not only once but a total of three times now. She recently performed at my favorite spot The Green Room Actors Lounge and killed it both times. Last week she performed & gave the crowd just a taste of what was to come. Then last night 4/27/2013 she was a featured artist. Boy, oh boy, she went in! She performed an original piece and blazed the stage once again. Like many underground unappreciated artist Danni Cassette has been rising to the top for a while now. She has made many debuts in local city areas within Florida, Illinois, and Georgia just to name a few. I was so intrigued by her vocals that I purchased my very own Danni Cassette CD of her latest EP The Land Of TapeHistry. I can’t stop listening to it. Yes this is definitely another artist I can’t get enough of. I love the way the Creator keeps sending me soul food… You can say I’m grateful!

The third eye (also known as the inner eye) is a mystical and esoteric concept referring in part to the ajna (brow) chakra in certain spiritual traditions. It is also spoken of as the gate that leads within to inner realms and spaces of higher consciousness. In New Age spirituality, the third eye may alternately symbolize a state of enlightenment or the evocation of mental images having deeply personal spiritual or psychological significance. The third eye is often associated with visions, clairvoyance (which includes the ability to observe chakras and auras),[1] precognition, and out-of-body experiences. People who have allegedly developed the capacity to utilize their third eyes are sometimes known as seers.

Shalom, I have recently embarked upon a journey that I am willing to share but I also realize that many will not understand and that is ok. For those who have ears let them hear! I have often wondered about the third eye theory. After beginning Maum Meditation instructed by Koreans I realized that there are so many levels of spirituality. All my life I have only had a bird’s eye view (perspective) driven by the African-American Christian Culture.

Since I have submitted to my creator (the orgin) I have opened my spirit to all the possibilities of worship and oness with my God. I have began many theological studies all while seeking Most High. There is so much more to Relationship with God then just religion. You see I have come to know that religion is man made and well relationship with Most High well no one can create that, but you within your one on one encounters with the creator.

So back to this third eye- People it exist more than you will ever know, but you must seek it within your spiritual being. One goal is to die daily. Yes the flesh must die to allow the spirit to take control for we are spiritual beings in a fleshly capsule so when you die yes, your spirit still remains. Would you like to live in the afterlife as a dormant spirit or full of life? Well the journey begins now. No longer shall you live as a dead spirit.. Seek Most High for this knowledge that is given. Don’t be afraid to live like you have never lived before. Get out of your comfort zone.. For if you continue to live like the world you will die like the world..

There are areas within your brain that store memory; pictures if you will. Attached to those pictures are emotions whether good or bad. Your very existence has been shaped by those pictures, thoughts, memories. A mind filled with clutter.. therefore you cannot connect with the Orgin (Creator) completely until you rid yourself of those things. In this mess you will find the enemy prowling and lurking waiting for an opportunity to prey on you!! You must allow a detox to occur.. it is a tedious process but if you are truly ready then your journey begins and then you shall truly see with what most people call the third eye. Believe me this is REAL.. This message is not for all but for those who have ears to hear.. When you are ready Jehovah, YHWH, Elohim will lead you & Jesus will walk with you.. U will never be alone.

You will begin to live lin life in the right now. No longer allowing your future to be effected by your past. The past no longer exist so why should your present be dictated by it. You are who you are right now no longer that person that you once were. Continue to journey into your TRUE ME and allow that THIRD EYE to open eternally..

Soul Savers-The Trilogy

Sistah Kenya has released the first 2books of her Trilogy entitled Soul Savers. The Trilogy consists of Black Butterfly Emerged, Breakthrough & Emancipation. BBE is designed to reach out to many who live untraditionally. We all have life experiences that we don’t often share publicly. Well these 3 novels touch on those taboo subjects and so much more. The twists of each tale lies within the purpose of these novels. Soul Savers were created to do just that; Save Souls.

Sistah Kenya was inspired by her Creator to write these tales and add such a flair, that those who would emabark upon them, would be moved spiritually. Each novel has it’s own unique design to provoke you to think about your spiritual position and relationship with GOD all while being entertained.

Black Butterfly Emerged

Keyone is in the prime of her life. She just finished college and is working for a black owned corporation. She spends most of her time with one of her best friends, Shakira. Living in Atlanta was always a dream of hers, but lately she rarely has anytime for to enjoy the city. She seeks excitement in her dull and lackluster life by deciding to date someone she normally wouldn’t. To her demise, life as she knows it is about to change. The story begins to unfold and the tale is told by Keyone, her best friend Shakira and her new found love Lenny. Keyone’s past comes to gain precedence in her future. She finds herself in a place where only God can help her… Enjoy this read it will speak to your mind, heart, and soul.

Breakthrough

The journey of two best friends continues as their lives unfold in new dimensions. Keyone has recently gotten over the death of her college sweetheart, had his baby and married the man whom she never thought she would; Lenny Jones. Shakira has decided to live righteously following the way of GOD while her hubby continues in the fast lane. Soon their decisions will lead them in an unexpected direction.

Their neighbor Seth Martinez fights to regain control of his life while Shakira’s latest mentee Caroline, struggles with the ugly realties of her life. In this journey all parties must decide if they will continue on the path where they are or move forward into their destiny! Will they finally Breakthrough? Only time will tell. To be released Soon… The saga continues as the trilogy ends with a compilation of all the tales evolving from beginning to end. Each charachter will be Emancipated within their life according to their journey within the season of their life. As Life throws curve balls, these charachters respond in an uncanny way…. This is definitely an ending that will be worth progressing toward! Concsciousness Rising in Music Industry

In this fast paced world we don’t often take the time to slow down and consider the actions of our fellow mankind within our nation (America). Recently I stumbled upon a song by the artist MIGUEL entitled “Candles in the Sun” from his latest album Kaleidoscope Dream. I was intrigued by the title alone. As I listened to the melodic tone of his voice I was surprised by the lyrics of consciousness which flowed freely from his mouth. I needed a visual of this song so I searched for it on YouTube and sure enough there it was. It just recently premiered roughly 3 weeks ago. This video is raw and matches the depth of the lyrics expressed.

In this song Miguel brings us to consciousness and awareness of what is happening within our nation and the importance of our attention. He asks “Is there a God? Is HE watching? Is She watching? Are They Watching? If not What are we doing? Where are we going?” I believe this song has spiritual connotations and spiritual minded persons should be aware of the message within this song. It is up to us to be the reflection of the LIGHT that this dark world needs. This song just portrays the necessity of our very being and purpose within life and the ministries God has given us. Take a listen and watch MIGUEL in the video below as he expresses himself within in his artistry given by the Creator. Whether he realizes it or not he has ministered to me through song and for that I am thankful unto GOD! Consciousness is what we need especially in the Music industry today! I applaud MIGUEL for taking a stand in his music to profess this TRUTH! Peace, Love & Light to you always MIGUEL!
